A high point of view of the east coast of Tahiti
The belvédère (scenic viewpoint) at Pirae is a long shaded walk on the east coast of the island of Tahiti. The view is magnificent over the towns of Papeete and Pirae in the foreground, with the magnificent blues and greens of the lagoon behind. The walk to the viewpoint is an agreeable trail that is popular with strollers and joggers at the end of the afternoon. The only downside is the road which runs next to it, so please be careful. The belvédère itself is the departure point for a well-known hiking trail named Mount Aorai.
