The valley of the Fataua lies between Pirae and Papeete. The valley begins at the gate of Polynésienne des Eaux, the company which manages the water supply in Papeete. A trail of about 3 kilometers leads to the bridge at Fachoda. It is a shaded, pleasant walk and there is a marae to visit on the way. After the bridge at Fachoda, the trail becomes more difficult.
