Hawaiki Nui Va'a has become one of the biggest sporting events of the year for Tahitians and many others in the South Pacific. Outrigger canoe races (va'a in Tahitian), solo or by team, the Tahitians are the kings of the discipline in international events. More than 2,000 va'a line up for this 80 km race, which takes place over three days between the islands of Huahine, Raiatea, Taha'a and Bora Bora. Hundreds of supporters cheer them on, from the boats and from the world famous Matira beach...
