Event organized by the Maison de la Culture
Between 1966 and 1996, 193 atmospheric and then underground firings were carried out at Moruroa and Fangataufa. These nuclear tests left a lasting mark on the history of French Polynesia. The political, economic, social, environmental and health upheavals caused by the installation of the Pacific Experimentation Center have shaped a new contemporary Polynesian reality. Returning to this period of our history, often subject to controversy, allows everyone to better understand the sequence of causes and effects, without the will to judge, but with the fierce determination to make available to the viewer the salient features of this adventure. Three actors relay the words of the witnesses by restoring acts and not simply accounts of old memories. The viewer sees the key moments that marked this period unfold before their eyes and accesses the emotions and inner world of the various protagonists.
