Hina

Hina offers our visitors a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation and sustainable development of The Islands of Tahiti.
This initiative directly supports four sustainable tourism projects, each carefully selected to address the social, economic, cultural, and environmental challenges of our destination.

Support Us

These projects have been rigorously selected by the Anāvai Foundation and the Federation of Environmental Protection Associations in French Polynesia (FAPE – Te Ora Naho) — two leading organizations in the local environmental and community network. Each of the four initiatives contributes to the well-being of local communities, the promotion of Polynesian culture, and the preservation of the natural environment.

An initiative supported by two

local multi-stakeholder organizations

To ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of the projects, the Hina initiative is supported by two leading organizations in the Polynesian non-profit sector: the Natura Porinetia Fund, managed by FAPE – Te Ora Naho, and the Anāvai Foundation.

FAPE - Te Ora Naho

FAPE, also known as Te Ora Naho, is the Federation of Environmental Protection Associations in French Polynesia. Active since 1987, FAPE – Te Ora Naho now brings together nearly 60 associations working to preserve ecosystems across the entire Polynesian territory.

A Holistic Vision

The Tahitian name Te Ora Naho means “life in harmony with nature.” This motto reflects FAPE – Te Ora Naho’s commitment to promoting sustainable development that respects biodiversity and local cultures.

Mobilizing for the Community

Through its many member associations, FAPE – Te Ora Naho brings together diverse initiatives and ensures local representation while maintaining constructive dialogue with economic and institutional stakeholders.

Fondation Anāvai

A Collective Dynamic
Anāvai is a foundation born from a simple and profound observation: in French Polynesia, associations play a crucial role in the social, cultural, and environmental life of the islands. They work tirelessly every day, often behind the scenes, with limited resources. At the same time, many people—both residents and visitors—wish to get involved, give, and participate.

Supporting Projects that Energize the Heart of the Islands
Anāvai serves as the bridge – the link between those who want to help and those already making a difference. Health, youth, culture, sports, disability, environment… It supports a wide range of causes – and the needs are urgent and genuine. Anāvai facilitates donations and volunteering, allowing everyone to get involved in their own way, right here, at the heart of the archipelagos.

The word Anavai refers to the stream of water, a source of life that nourishes and connects.
