Getting around on Rangiroa

Just one hour from Tahiti by plane, the vast lagoon of Rangiroa  (1 400 km2) is famous for its superb scuba diving sites, but it is also the perfect destination for taking an excursion by boat and visiting some of the atoll’s many motu. The two passes at Avatoru and Tiputa are at either end on the main motu, Avatoru, where the airport is situated. You can easily tour the island by bike, which you can rent, although many of the guesthouses will lend you one free of charge.
