On the crest of a wave

The surfboard waxed, the leash attached and and a thick layer of sunscreen on the nose. Everything’s ready for a surfing session. And you’re spoilt for choice, because there are over thirty surf spots in The Islands of Tahiti. Beach breaks, reef breaks, lefts, rights…there’s a perfect wave for everyone.

A spot which everyone will enjoy is Papenoo, on the east coast of Tahiti. You’ll find surfers of all levels there. For the more experienced, try Taapuna, it’s avery popular reef wave which means you have to be a good surfer. The most impressive spot of all is the legendary wave at Teahupoo. Considered by the pros to be one of the very best in the world. But you don’t have to be in Tahiti to go surfing.  Moorea, Huahine, and if you want to get away from the crowds, try the superb waves in Apataki in the Tuamotu Islands.
