A walk in the country

The picturesque scenery of Rurutu

Put on your sneakers, the Island of Rurutu is one great playground! By foot, on horseback, by quad or e-bike, there are trails to take you through fields of taro all the way to Mount Manureva or all along the coast. The Sentier perdu (lost trail), is the most demanding. You have to go with a guide at low tide and when the weather’s good. And it ends with a climb up to “la gueule du monstre” (the monster’s mouth), a cave with a very low roof.
